G5-J World Hip Hop Champ!
Over the past few years hip hop has taken on a new sound with a new look. That look has become what is referred to as a new SWAGGER ! Yes that’s right ladies and gentlemen we have entered the era of the SWAG! With that being said G5-J looks to be a major representative of this very era, bringing with him a little bit of what HipHop loves from its roots meshed together with what identifies with the heart, ears n, soul of todays youth!
G5-J or just Jay to his comrades is from Pasadena ca, and is a member of an up and coming hip-hop group known as SQRILLAFAM, a trio combined of movers and shakers, ultra creative and talented young men with great aspirations of success. Although Jay is in a group he often showcases his versatility through solo projects and outside collaborations, Jay said “if I am there we (SQRILLAFAM) are there and that goes for all of us.” A flamboyant but incredibly humble young man laces music with witty punch lines cocky swagger sharp delivery and intelligence. Jay really hones in on the concept of the fellas want to be him and the ladies want to be with him, this is very apparent in his music though somehow managing to do music with enough substance so that he’s not tabbed as just another shallow artist.
Jay has had the opportunity to perform with some of the most successful artist in the business such as, Fat Joe, The Legendary Ice Cube, DMX, Chamillionare, Paul Wall, Bone Thugs N Harmony just to name a few. Jay has also had the great pleasure to work with many artists in the business on the writing and production side of music.
